Environmental Charter

Hotel Isaacs

Hotel Isaacs Green Hospitality Award members have voluntarily agreed to adopt and implement actions and strategies that will deliver on the core elements of the Green Hospitality Award Programme. These are;

- To ensure viable, long-term economic operations, providing socio-economic benefits to all stakeholders that are fairly distributed, including stable employment and income-earning opportunities

- To make optimal use of environmental resources and minimise consumption of Energy & Water and production of Waste, whilst respecting local natural heritage and biodiversity.

To achieve these elements the management of each business is focused on minimising their environmental impact through an active environmental management programme, where senior management is committed to providing the resources required to develop a more sustainable operation. Annually, each business will publish an Environmental Policy which will set out the targets for that year and the specific strategies that will be adopted to achieve them.

Members are encouraged to adopt a pro-active approach in managing their environmental footprint, and in their relationship with their local & regional tourism location, and will actively support the development of sustainable tourism.

Members agree to abide by this charter in the normal course of their everyday operation, and to provide information to visitors, employees, and stakeholders to inform them of the actions the company is taking and what actions they can take to assist the business in reaching its goals. Visitors and employees are encouraged to engage actively with the business with support, suggestions and ideas.

This business recognises that the Green Hospitality Award identifies them as a business that is committed to managing its environmental sustainability and will endeavour to maintain the required standards pertaining to the award level that has been achieved.

The Green Hospitality Award offers awards at Bronze, Silver, Gold (Best Practice) and Platinum (World Class) levels. Visitors to member properties are invited to log on to www.ghaward.ie to view our criteria and to identify other environmentally friendly hospitality businesses in Ireland.
