Frequently Asked Questions at Isaacs Hostel

1. Do I need ID ?

Yes, valid identification is a requirement on check in. We accept a Passport, Photo ID and/ or Driver’s License. Management may request additional information as required from guests. We work hard to create a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all of our guests and reserve the right to refuse accommodation at our discretion

2. Is Isaacs Hostel in the city centre?

Yes, Isaacs Hostel is situated right in the City Centre, adjacent to the Bus station (Busaras) and minutes from Connolly and Tara Street train stations. O’Connell Street is a 5 minute walk, Temple bar is 15 minutes and one of the main shopping streets; Henry Street is also a short walk away.

3. Is breakfast included in the price?

Yes a simple continental breakfast is included FREE and includes tea or coffee, toast , butter , jams, Nutella , cereals and juices. It is served between 7.30am and 9.30 am Monday to Friday and till 10am on Saturday and Sunday. Alternatively, guests can avail of our self-catering kitchen which is open daily and prepare your own food

4. Is linen included?

Yes, all bed linen is included and beds prepared for your arrival. Guests are advised to bring their own towels. Towels are available for hire at €3 each per towel but they are included if you are staying in a private room.

5. What safekeeping facilities are provided?

Small safes (large enough for cameras, documents, wallets small lap tops etc.) are provided and a small daily charge of €3 is made for their hire. We recommend that all guests avail of this facility as the hostel cannot accept responsibility for any items lost or stolen.

6. Are left-luggage facilities provided?

Yes, there are lockers provided in a secure luggage room in Basement- a small daily charge of €3 is required for their hire during  your stay. (With a €10 refundable deposit for key). We recommend that all guests avail of this facility as the hostel cannot accept responsibility for any items lost or stolen.

7. What are the check in and check out times?

Guest can check in to Isaacs hostel any time after 14.00h and they must check out before 11.00h. There is no lock out during the day so guests can come and go as they please.

8. Does the hostel have a curfew?

No, there is no curfew at any of our hostels. Reception is open 24 hours a day but you do need to show your room voucher ( which you receive on check in ) to access the Hostel after 11pm

9. Are multi-bed rooms single sex only?

No, we have male, female and mixed sex rooms in our hostels.

10. Are any bedrooms ensuite?

No, at Isaacs Hostel we don’t have any ensuite bedrooms. Shower and toilets are found on each floor.

11. What methods of payment are accepted?

We accept cash and credit cards (Mastercard and Visa) and debit card. When making a reservation either a deposit or credit card number is required to guarantee the reservation.

12. What is your cancellation policy?

For individual reservations the cancellation policy is 24 hours. For groups, we require the first nights’ accommodation prepaid as deposit. This is non-refundable. Any group cancellations must be made in writing 14 days before the arrival date of the group. Changes or cancellations to group booking can only be accepted up to 4 weeks prior to arrival without charge. Any changes made after this, may unfortunately incur an extra charge

13.Is there an Admission /Membership Policy ?

There is no membership fee involved. We are independent hostels and members of the Independent Holiday Hostels of Ireland Association. To stay at our hostels all you need is some valid photo identification and enough money to pay for your bed for the night. We work hard to create a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all of our guests and reserve the right to refuse accommodation at our discretion

14. Can Groups avail of Special Promotional Rates?

We offer 3 nights for the price of 2 for groups at certain times but this is not available in conjunction with any other offer. We advise groups to contact us directly in order to get the best option available to them at groups@isaacs.ie

15. Do you have age restriction?

We do not take Groups under 16 only on special request via groups@isaacs.ie. Families travelling with children under age of 16 must book private accommodation

16. Is WIFI/internet available in Isaacs Hostel?

Yes Wifi is available in the common areas free of charge

17. Is a car park available in Isaacs hostel?

We do not have our own car park but our guests have special rates at Irish Life ParkRite Car -a 2 minute walk from the hostel , or there is some limited on Street Pay and Display Car Parking near by

18.Is the water drinkable?

The water from Kitchen tap is drinkable and filtered water is freely available

19. Do you have Plug adaptors available?

Yes we sell them for €4 per adaptor.

20. What laundry facilities are available?

There are washing machines and tumble dryers available (a charge for use) and irons in the laundry room. Detergents are available at reception.

21. How do I reach the hostel from the airport?

We recommend the 747 Airlink bus which is right outside the airport, takes about 25 minutes and is €7 single or €12 return. It stops on Talbot Street  and is a minute walk from Isaacs hostel just around the Corner. We can book the return ticket at reception if you need

22. Can I book tour tickets at the Hostel?

Yes of course, we can easily book tour tickets for you to places like the Cliffs of Moher, Giants  Causeway and Glendalough  We can arrange bike hire, Bike tours and Hop on /Hop of Bus tickets. We offer good discounts on many tours for our guests and our staff have excellent knowledge

23.Hostel Etiquette 

Be considerate :When sharing dorms please be aware that some guests need to sleep and not all are 24 hour party people. We have a quiet rule between 11pm and 7am rule at Isaacs on the stairs, corridors and bedrooms if guests are found to be abusing this rule to the discomfort of others you may be asked to leave

If you are a light sleeper, be prepared and please bring ear plugs or get at reception. This is a city hostel and we have a train line nearby so there will be some noise. The trains finish at 12 midnight so if you want an early night so best be prepared

23. Problem with Booking availability 

Occasionally you may not be able to book the same type of room or dorm on our website for all of your stay which may mean moving rooms. It is worth contacting hostelreception@isaacs.ie to see if they can find a way to help
